This helpful tip is super simple and cheap (free if you have the basics on hand). I found this DIY jewelry cleaner months ago and it’s actually from a food site here. Which is fitting because all of the “ingredients” are from the kitchen:
DIY jewelry cleaner

DIY jewelry cleaner recipe

1 tbsp salt

1 tbsp baking soda

1 tbsp dish detergent

one cup water

1 piece of aluminum foil

bowl

Just stick the water in the microwave for one to two minutes (I do two to get it nice and hot) and while it’s heating use a piece of foil to line the bottom of the bowl:

When the water is ready, pour it in the bowl, add the tablespoons of baking soda, salt and detergent in and watch it fizz:

7 min read

Opinions expressed by Entrepreneur contributors are their own.

Home decor is quickly becoming an “it” industry in 2015. Once dominated by big-box retailers and independent interior designers, the home decor industry is undergoing a sea change and a few innovative startups are leading the charge.

Home furnishings shoppers used to start with the likes of Ikea, graduate to, say, West Elm and eventually dabble in Williams-Sonoma or Restoration Hardware. Now with tools like Pinterest and design blogs providing endless inspiration and access, there are a lot more choices, variety and experimentation.

And creating a coherent, polished yet personalized aesthetic no longer requires an expert eye, bundles of free time or a hefty disposable income.

Entrepreneurs have entered the decor game and things are heating up.

Home furnishings is a $79 billion industry, according to IBIS World as of December, and that space is attracting

Decorator pattern – Wikipedia

In object-oriented programming, the decorator pattern is a design pattern that allows behavior to be added to an individual object, dynamically, without affecting the behavior of other objects from the same class.[1] The decorator pattern is often useful for adhering to the Single Responsibility Principle, as it allows functionality to be divided between classes with unique areas of concern.[2] The decorator pattern is structurally nearly identical to the chain of responsibility pattern, the difference being that in a chain of responsibility, exactly one of the classes handles the request, while for the decorator, all classes handle the request.

Overview[edit]

The decorator[3] design pattern is one of the twenty-three well-known GoF design patterns; these describe how to solve recurring design problems and design flexible and reusable object-oriented software—that is, objects which are easier to implement, change, test, and reuse.

What problems can it solve?

Adventures in Decorating & Design: Ruler Growth Chart

I have been seeing these wonderful ruler growth charts on blogs and Pinterest.  The first one I saw was here:
http://naptimedecorator.blogspot.com/2011/10/ruler-growth-chart.html
Love it!  Easy to follow instructions and great pictures!  Of course I had to make my own and make it a little bit different.  Here is what you need:

A 6 foot 10″x1″ or 8″x1″ board (I used a 10″x1″)
Printed off large numbers in different fonts.  (I made them the size of a printable piece of paper in Word.)
Printed off  smaller numbers for the ruler part.
Stain
Clear Sealer
Paint pen
Pen

Start with sanding down the board and the sides:

Wipe all the dust off and print off your numbers:

Here is a picture of my numbers 1-6, plus the smaller numbers.  I only printed the outline of the numbers in order to save ink. Then I measured out where I wanted the board to hang
