Kelly Behun x Calico Wallpaper
The romance between shadow and light enchants in AD100 designer Kelly Behun’s two new hand painted wallpaper designs for Calico. As though capturing a still of an afternoon sun exuding through a slatted pergola, the Bask wallpaper enchants in a soft, minimalist palette. Meanwhile, the Sylvan design draws on the shifting patterns of light to abstractly accentuate a snowy forest scene.
Luca Nichetto x Steinway & Sons
Touring the Steinway & Sons factory in Astoria, Queens, is like stepping into a time machine: There, for more than a century, master carpenters have carried out their exacting craft in much the same manner, day after day, creating pianos that have appeared in the world’s most beloved concert halls, the White House, and other esteemed locales. That is, until you reach their newest model: the Gran Nichetto Model B Steinway. Luca Nichetto, the Venetian maestro behind the design, worked with Steinway & Sons for four years to devise a concept that recasts the company’s classic piano into something subtly contemporary, produced with wholly of-the-moment construction methods. Limited to a production run of 50 and available in three finishes—Black Polished, Midnight Red, and Walnut Veneer—the Gran Nichetto features shapely, gently sloping legs with kintsugi-like brass or stainless-steel accents, an Italian leather desk panel, and comes offered, too, as a Spirio R, Steinway’s version of a high-resolution player piano.
Jake Arnold x Lulu & Georgia
Throughout his myriad residential interiors, LA designer Jake Arnold often opts for muted yet impactful rugs that express a relaxed California sensibility. His limited-edition, seven-piece collection for Lulu & Georgia is just as hushed, drawing from 18th-century tapestries and modernist forms alike. Crafted in earthy hues of moss, mauve, copper, and chocolate brown, the floor covering range includes the fringed Wilcox and Harper, characterized by its subtly raised and two-toned grid pattern.
Kelly Ventura x Wovn Home
Nature is a consistent muse in watercolor artist Kelly Ventura’s works, and her trio of fabric designs for custom window coverings maker Wovn Home further explores her connection to the great outdoors. The Michigan-based artist’s exclusive designs include Courtyard, a faint, painterly floral; Fern, a flora stripe capturing the poetic unfurling of fronds; and Trail, a ripple wave pattern as though freshly imprinted from a sandy shore.
