Face Mask Innovation Challenge Extended!
By Design is partnering with Silicon Valley based design consultancy Akin Inc. to extend and elevate the #facemaskinnovation Challenge. Along with the original prize, a feature on the New York By Design television series, the elevated round brings a highly unique, impactful, real world design element to the Challenge.
The winning designer will have the amazing opportunity to work with Akin’s design team and state of the art manufacturing and sourcing partners to bring their design through development, full prototyping and commercialization to a ready-for-manufacture product.
AND, the 5 finalists will have their designs professionally reviewed by Akin’s manufacturing team and partners. The finalists and winner will also be featured on By Design social media and websites.
This is your chance to innovate the #facemask **Not for medical use but for our daily lives, shopping, travel, exercise, public or social gatherings** and bring your design out of the studio, onto the global stage and into the world! Akin’s team is ready for your most inspired level of ingenuity and design innovation.
This human centered design problem is one of the most important of our time. We can’t wait to see how you transform the face mask into an accessory that is inviting, functional, and people want to wear.
The By Design panel of global design leaders will judge the Challenge and select the finalists and winner. Entries will be judged on ingenuity, creativity, functionality, wearability and potential viability.
