Rather than relocate, these clients decided to renovate. Their renovation included removal of walls and total demolition of their current space. The kitchen is now where their small keeping room once was, and the hood vent is now on the wall where the fireplace used to be! The wall was removed between the formal living room and the kitchen to create one open, beautiful living area.
The complete renovation also included changing the use of the space from a formal living room to a casual family room, which opens to the newly renovated kitchen. The client wanted to keep everything light and airy. The furnishings were carefully selected to be more sophisticated but not sacrificing comfort. The use of shiplapand reclaimed wood beams add warmth to this room.
