Perched on a rocky outcrop on a clifftop, this 1930s house in the Swedish coastal village of Arild has almost 360-degree sea views and a dramatic sloping garden.
The property’s rear garden is set over a number of levels, which offer multiple elevated vantage points from which to enjoy the views. The surrounding wooded slopes, Skälderviken bay and across to the village of Torekov and Hallands Väderö island form its vistas.
The rear of the house and its decked terrace overhang a clifftop, whose slopes steeply drop down to a swimming pool and sunbathing terrace, which is accessed at one side by steps hewn from the rock face. The pool sits in its rocky surroundings, creating a secluded natural setting.
The three-story village home is in mint condition after being extensively renovated and altered since 2013 by a range of skilled craftspeople who have worked closely with the owner, according to the property’s sales details.

Inside, lofty, living spaces with sea views abound. Rooms feature modern technology while retaining their original 1930s charm. Wide timber floorboards and a sweeping staircase sit beside a designer kitchen and new window frames. The all-white interior enhances the feeling of light and space.
There are balconies and small terraces in addition to the front and rear gardens, which ensure the property has sunny and sheltered outdoor spots throughout the year, according to property’s sales details.
This home offers extraordinary views and design, said listing agent Joakim Vestergren of Sweden Sotheby’s International Realty. “It is one of the most thorough renovations I have ever seen. It is very well located in a quaint little summer village next to the sea in a natural setting on the Kullaberg peninsula, which is popular for its hiking trails and rock-climbing opportunities,” he added.

Neighborhood Notes
The property is in Arild, a quaint coastal village and popular holiday destination set on the Kullaberg peninsula in the Skåne County area of Sweden.
Arild sits on rocky slopes that rise out of the sea and feature rocky outcrops that sit on the ridge above. Its pretty houses and their cottage-style gardens tumble down wooded slopes to the water’s edge.
The area is great for commuters, Mr. Vestergren said. “Flights to Stockholm from nearby Ängelholm airport take less than one hour, Gothenburg is just over two hours away by car, and the train journey from nearby Helsingborg to Copenhagen’s international airport is just a little over an hour,” he explained.
